We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician who will be responsible for patient care, client support, and communications for our Dermatology section. As a valuable member of our team, you will provide technical assistance for routine and complex appointments, case workups, and procedures for companion, animals. This will include consults for equine, farm, and exotic animals.
What qualifications are required?
The Cornell University Hospital for Animals provides 24-hour care for pets 365 days of the year.
The majority of our teaching and routine care for this role occurs Monday through Friday, day shifts. Other hours, as determined by caseload and need, to include weekends and holidays (includes generous holiday pay) may be required.

- Support specialty faculty veterinarians, specialty trainees and veterinary students with management of Dermatology service workflow
- Assure efficient, quality care for pets and their owners
- Interact and communicate with clients in-person, by phone, email, including scheduling and answering routine questions.
- Show off your technical skills assisting during examinations and using skills specific to Dermatology like skin scrapings, cytologies, trichograms, skin biopsies, intradermal allergy testing, etc.
- Be proficient with our evolving ecosystem of information resources like ezyVet and TeleVetFlow.
- Work in a brand-new clinical space
- Serve as a liaison within the hospital by providing excellent communication for all Dermatology patients shared between services
- Work with faculty on clinical research
What qualifications are required?
- Associates degree in Veterinary Technology.
- New York State licensure or eligibility to become licensed in NYS.
